This unique annual online film festival showcases the works of both aspiring filmmakers and professionals through a new medium: the internet. Participants from across the world can send in their entries, which are then judged by a film critic. Organized by the BBC Southampton in association with Harbour Lights Cinema and City Eye, this festival aims at promoting short films, and targets at a worldwide audience. Discover Hampshire's fine foods, crafts and restaurants, as well its chefs, local farmers and producers, at this annual festival. It takes place throughout Hampshire in June and offers the chance to not only taste local food and drink, but find out how it is made. Events include farmers' markets, bee-keeping demonstrations, vineyard tours and ice cream and asparagus tastings. Hampshire pubs and restaurants also serve special local dishes during the week. The festival culminates in a day of activities in Winchester, including a local producer food hall selling local specialities and a gourmet food court where signature dishes from some of Hampshire's best restaurants may be sampled. Every year in June more than 80,000 people pack onto Southampton Common for the biggest free concert in the south. Organised by Power FM, some of the biggest names in pop appear on stage, alongside up-and-coming artists. Expect a carnival atmosphere, bungee jumping and Power FM DJs. The RIBEX international boat show is the world's only international exhibition dedicated to Rigid Inflatable Boats. After initially being held in Weymouth, the show relocated in 2000 to Ocean Village, and now takes place on the Isle of Wight. The event's growth stands as testimony to the growth of the RIB industry and the high concentration of RIB users in the Solent area. There will be plenty of attractions and activities, with land and on-water exhibits, live demonstrations, entertaining displays and RIB rides. Discussions between Diving Contractors, UK Harbour Masters' Association, British Marine Federation and British Commercial Boat builders Association are also held. Spectacular kite displays |

There will be fun for all the family at this spectacular two day kite festival, held in early June. Exciting displays will light up the sky and there will also be kite traders, a fun fair, refreshments and kiddie-kite workshops. There will be a barbeque on the first evening and possibly a steel band on the second. Once the light draws in, the event will climax with a stunning display of kites fitted with special nightglow lights.
