The New Forest Show is the largest equestrian and agricultural event in the mid-south and has been entertaining people since 1920. Every year there is show-jumping, dairy breeds and sheep and donkeys, not to mention hunky men in shorts whizzing up poles or wielding axes! You will also find the Gurkhas Band, flowers, wine, bees, antiques, hundreds of trade stands and a food hall. Be sure to wear your ribbons. Special buses run to the show from Southampton City Centre. Every year in June more than 80,000 people pack onto Southampton Common for the biggest free concert in the south. Organised by Power FM, some of the biggest names in pop appear on stage, alongside up-and-coming artists. Expect a carnival atmosphere, bungee jumping and Power FM DJs. The Seawork Exhibition has been running successfully for 9 consecutive years. Held in the month of June, this exhibition gives insights on the marine industry. There is a focus on topics such as Raising Stability Awareness in the Fishing Industry, Small Commercial Vessels and The Pilot Boat Code of Practice. Discussions between Diving Contractors, UK Harbour Masters' Association, British Marine Federation and British Commercial Boat builders Association are also held. Spectacular kite displays |

There will be fun for all the family at this spectacular two day kite festival, held in early June. Exciting displays will light up the sky and there will also be kite traders, a fun fair, refreshments and kiddie-kite workshops. There will be a barbeque on the first evening and possibly a steel band on the second. Once the light draws in, the event will climax with a stunning display of kites fitted with special nightglow lights.
