Happy China

Don't worry; be happy
12921 Olive
St. Louis, MO 63141
United States

With a variety of choices on its all-you-can-eat buffet, Happy China is a great place to stop for lunch. However, popularity does have its drawbacks: the lines are long here, and the wait is longer. If you can stand the wait, though, the cuisine is worth it. Best of all, the buffet items are labeled. Chef Pa creates an array of sweet-and-sour, spicy and ginger-flavored pork, beef and chicken. Top off any selection with a crispy egg roll and some wonton soup.

Helen Fitzgerald's has an Irish atmosphere and an Irish menu, but it also serves pizza, steak, chicken wings, shark, seafood and burgers. Enjoy the 14-foot big-screen television, the 300-gallon fish tank is fascinating and the free buffet during the happy hour is sumptuous. Menu items are served all evening, with bar food ranging from USD5-USD10 per entree/appetizer.

Mama Campisi's

Let Mama satisfy that hunger
2132 Edwards St
St. Louis, MO 63110
United States
+1 314 771 1797 / +1 800 480 0827
Since opening in November 1982, the Campisis have treated all their customers like family. Mama Campisi started the restaurant, and her sons, John and Frank, carry on the tradition with taste and style. The building was named for Louie Oldani, the creator of the famous Toasted Ravioli. The result of an accident, the dish was born when the cook and Evilin Oldani dropped an order of ravioli into hot oil instead of hot water. After tasting, adding some spice and dressing, a popular favorite was created. National food critics visiting Oldani's have recognized the excellent cuisine and service.

A lot of people drive out from St. Louis to this restaurant in the boomtown of Edwardsville for the pasta lover's buffet on Tuesdays and for the Sunday brunch. With the pasta, the usual Italian sauces are available, but there are also interesting sauces with Southwestern and Asian influences, offering a fusion of East and West. For the less adventurous diner, the steaks are very good. Diners' attire ranges from shorts to suits. The restaurant's decor is bold and contemporary with deep crimson walls. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to dine on the weekend.

Whether you feel like a fruit juice smoothie to go, or a sumptuous Sunday buffet brunch, Provisions has it. Have a gourmet sandwich build to order at the sandwich bar, along with one of their excellent homemade soups. The bakery counter is loaded with tempting cakes, pies and pastries for dessert. The bistro in the rear serves consistently wonderful fare from appetizers to entrees, in addition to the Sunday buffet brunch.
