This is a well—known hotel at Slussen in the Söder district, close to the Old Town. There is a restaurant and bar for those who wish to stay indoors for the evening. Söder and the Old Town's huge selection of bars, restaurants and clubs is just around the corner as well. Boats to Djurgården, Gröna Lund amusement park and Skansen open—air museum stop only a few minutes walk away from the hotel.

Victory Hotel

Maritime setup in medieval surroundings

This family—owned hotel was named after Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory. The hotel follows the maritime theme and has quite a few antiques. Nelson and Lady Hamilton's love story unravelled in this very place many years ago. One of their love letters is displayed in the lobby. Restaurant Leijontornet is located in the ruins of the Lion Tower (part of Stockholm's defence fortress from the 14th century), in the same building. All rooms are adorned with the portrait of a ship's captain from the turn of the last century. Shipbroker rooms are equipped with a Bang & Olufsen stereo system, and a CD library can be found at the reception.

On the way to Djurgården, by the water in the green oasis, lies this exquisite little hotel. It is only one-storey high with beautifully decorated rooms, a bar and an award-winning restaurant. Regular buses are available to the city centre. But rather than the bus, a walk along the waterfront to the city centre is highly recommended.
