Restaurant at the opera |
Jakobs Torg 12, Operahuset Kungsträdgården Stockholm Sweden +46 (0)8 676 5809 |
This popular restaurant is the neighbor of the illustrious Operakällaren, situated near Jacob's Church. The performers at the Royal Opera throng here to savor the salmon delicacies. The place shares its kitchen with the Operabaren and the prices are quite affordable. House specialties are Beef Rydberg (thin-sliced tenderloin) and seasonal reindeer and elk delicacies. The bar is shaped like a horseshoe and is quite popular with the patrons. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Generous portions |
Österlånggatan 14 Stockholm 111 31 Sweden +46 (0)8 20 5776 http://www.paristexas.se/ |
This is a romantic restaurant where you are served well-made food in candlelight. Formerly known as Bakfickan, this place has also shifted from France to Texas, in terms of both music and food. The spacious and pleasant surroundings are appropriate to the grilled meat and fish in different salsas that you'll find on the menu. The dishes are generous and well-made. On Saturdays you can have an American brunch with eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros and a Bloody Mary, while the sounds of Hank Williams, Flaco Jimenez and Big Mama Thornton waft from the loudspeakers. Losers Central |
Norrtullsgatan 45 Stockholm 113 45 Sweden +46 (0)8 31 8070 http://www.cliff.se/ info@cliff.se |
When you feel that everything and everyone is against you, come to Cliff Barnes and propose a toast to the biggest loser in TV history, Cliff Barnes of Dallas fame. There are pictures on the walls of him losing all his money yet again to the ice-cold J R Ewing. The atmosphere is friendly and cheerful. The jokes come thick and fast; the whole menu is one big pun. This is a place for everyone, young or old, trendy or totally uncool. Be forewarned though, it can get quite boisterous here at night. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Thank Goodness it's Friday's |
Kungsträdgården Stockholm 111 47 Sweden +46 8 10 0626 |
Kungsträdgården is a popular place filled with bars and nightlife. It becomes a spot for even more frenzied activity in summer, when the terrace areas are open. The premises that Friday's American Bar now occupies is notorious for having changed owners a number of times. It is an homage to TGI Friday's, but the focus is more on drinks than on food. Authentic jazz bar |
Brunnsgatan 21A Stockholm 111 38 Sweden +46 (0)8 10 0322 http://www.glennmillercafe.com/ |
Like an oasis in the middle of the city, between the bustling streets of Malmskillnadsgatan och Regeringsgatan, Glenn Miller Café has been a haven for jazz—lovers ever since. Without changing the style or altering the décor, this place has managed to stay popular for generations. On certain nights, live jazz is played by high—brow bands. Mostly, jazz lovers bring their own favourite jazz records to play on vinyl, of course. They would consider CD—players an insult. The venue is very small but extremely pleasant. The walls are covered with jazz photos and instruments. The food is mainly American. On the menu are burgers and steaks, but also more original and innovative crossover—style meals. Food, drink and rock 'n' roll |
Sveavägen 75 Stockholm 113 50 Sweden +46 (0)8 545 494 00 http://www.hardrock.com stockholm@hardrock.se |
Hard Rock Café has a restaurant in almost every major city of the world. This Stockholm outlet follows the chain's concept of hearty American food on the menu, and rock 'n' roll memorabilia on the walls. Customers can enjoy live performances during the evening. The Sunday brunch is good value-for-money and very popular, and there's plenty options in the place that will keep kids happy. Don't forget to buy a mug, T-shirt, or a Fender pin with the Hard Rock Café logo from the souvenir shop on your way out. Review © 2007, Wcities |

American diner for meat-lovers |
Tjärhovsgatan 35 Stockholm 116 28 Sweden +46 (0)8 644 0666 |
Located in the middle of Södermalm, Jimmy's Steakhouse, is popular among Americans craving for T-bone steaks, which are available here in various sizes. With its genuine bedrock wall, cactii and wooden furniture, it somehow resembles an American diner of the wild west. Review © 2007, Wcities |
