Generous portions |
Österlånggatan 14 Stockholm 111 31 Sweden +46 (0)8 20 5776 http://www.paristexas.se/ |
This is a romantic restaurant where you are served well-made food in candlelight. Formerly known as Bakfickan, this place has also shifted from France to Texas, in terms of both music and food. The spacious and pleasant surroundings are appropriate to the grilled meat and fish in different salsas that you'll find on the menu. The dishes are generous and well-made. On Saturdays you can have an American brunch with eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros and a Bloody Mary, while the sounds of Hank Williams, Flaco Jimenez and Big Mama Thornton waft from the loudspeakers. This cafe is located in the middle of Gamla Stan (the Old Town), among the cobblestones and the narrow alleys. You'll find many candles lit up inside and the home-baked cinnamon rolls you get here are really tasty. It's perfect for a romantic date. Located in an old stone vault, a lot of wood and stone have been used for the cafe's décor. Review © 2007, Wcities |

At Dala Deli, you may end up taking home more than you bargained for. Absolutely everything is for sale, including the antique furniture and the funky 60s-style lamps. The walls are Mediterranean blue and the floor is black and white. There is a gigantic menu of imaginative sandwiches hanging over the counter. If you don't like their combinations, you are welcome to go ahead and make your own. They prepare sandwiches in all the possible combinations. The names are very amusing; one of them is called 'The bad, the good and the ugly'. Review © 2007, Wcities |

String offers you everything from pie to furniture to tea cups and sandwiches. The prices are more than reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed, which invites you to stay much longer than you intended. Especially recommended are the weekend breakfast buffets and the children's matinees on Sundays. Although String is spacious, it gets busy and crowded. Chairs are placed wherever there is room, even in the windows! Review © 2007, Wcities |
