Stylised luxury |
Upplandsgatan 17 Stockholm 113 60 Sweden +46 (0)8 30 4057 |
Zesty's décor is in itself worth a visit. The modern and stylised interior and furniture come from the exclusive design shop London W8. Guests are given Palm Pilots to place their orders, a novel and fun idea; no more waiting to catch the attention of waiting staff! Although the prices are high, so are their culinary ambitions, and the results are excellent. Altogether, everything adds up to an atmosphere of modern luxury—please dress accordingly. Mingle with the rich and famous |
Operahuset, Karl XII:s torg P. O. Box 1616 Stockholm 111 86 Sweden +46 (0)8 676 5800 / +46 (0)8 676 5807 http://www.cafeopera.se info@cafeopera.se |
This used to to be the haunt of the rich and famous and was frequented by many Swedish and international celebrities. These days, however, Café Opera is no longer so exclusive. Stop by for a drink or a traditional Swedish meal and don't forget to notice the beautifully-decorated ceiling. At night it's known as Revolver nightclub, welcoming a younger rock'n'roll crowd. Eighteenth—century dining traditions |
Österlånggatan 51 Box 2269 Stockholm 111 31 Sweden +46 (0)8 24 9760 http://www.gyldenefreden.se info@gyldenefreden.se |
Golden Peace is said to be Stockholm's oldest tavern. The restaurant opened in 1722 and many famous people have wined and dined here over the centuries. Incidentally, the interior has changed very little over time. The décor is rustic, depicting medieval and renaissance cultures. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Elegant restaurant with a spectacular view |
Stadsgården 6 Stockholm 104 65 Sweden +46 (0)8 641 7090 http://www.eriks.se info@eriks.se |
This restaurant, an exclusive for business dinners, is also popular among all—nighters. It serves excellent food, mainly French cuisine and is slightly expensive. However, it offers a breathtaking view over Stockholm and the surrounding water, which makes it worth the visit. Alternatively, try out the more modest part of the restaurant, 'the kitchen', where you can dine at half price. The menu is simpler and more affordable, but you miss out on the fabulous view. Naglo does not tempt party crowds; dining or lunching at this restaurant you will mainly find business people from the nearby offices. Prices are generally above average, but Naglo is suitable also for private family dinners. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A marraige of minds |
Mäster Samuelsgatan 4 Stockholm 111 44 Sweden +46 8 611 1331 http://www.restaurangprinsen.se/ matsalen@restaurangprinsen.se |
Prinsen used to be the meeting place for Stockholm's artists, writers and rich bohemians. And it still is. It's so ingrained in Stockholm culture that it is mentioned in various books and stories. This place has even been depicted in Stockholm artist, Peter Dahl's paintings. An inner circle of artists and writers, like Horace Engdahl from the Swedish Academy and playwright Stig Larsson still regularly meet here. You can select from a variety of traditional Swedish dishes or international favorites. It is quite fancy, so don't forget to dress up. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Classic yet inventive |
Oxtorgsgatan 14 Stockholm 111 57 Sweden +46 (0)8 22 0952 http://www.restaurangentm.com/ info@restaurangentm.com |
Melker Andersson is the super-chef behind this innovative bar and restaurant. The menu is unique, and sure to satisfy a variety of tastes. Every course has one dominant flavour, such as lime, pepper or vanilla. In the evening, Restaurangen transforms into a crowded bar, and things get spiced up every weekend, when it becomes a rocking nightclub. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sturehof |
Stureplan 2 Stockholm 111 37 Sweden +46 (0)8 440 5730 http://www.sturehof.com info@sturehof.com |
Like an unexplored castle with flights of stairs leading to strange rooms and floors, Sturehof has 'Adventure' written all over it. Three floors offer three different bars and atmospheres. The most crowded and best known of them is the O-bar on the top floor, which is slightly noisy but full of charm. The music differs between the floors and the rooms, so go and explore to find your favorite. The wine-list offers a delicious assortment of European wines, and the restaurant itself specializes in seafood dishes. If you're a night owl, this is the place for you, as they keep their kitchen open till 1a. Review © 2007, Wcities |
