Andreas Skivor

Music, Vinyl and CDs
Skånegatan 90
Stockholm 116 37
Sweden
+46 (0)8 640 8839
This is one of Stockholm's best record stores, which stocks music records with jazz influences. Rap and house get their fair share of shelf space as well, and the selection of the music is firmly placed off the charts. Every item in the store is elaborately designed to fit the futuristic vibes. There are three turntables, where you can listen to an unknown 12-inch record before buying it. Andreas Skivor also sells vinyl and CDs, and by chance if you are interested in obscure classics you can find them here; second-hand or new.

Anna Holtblad

Stylistically Swedish
Grev Turegatan 13
Stockholm 114 38
Sweden
+46 (0)8 5450 2220
http://www.annaholtblad.com
"Fashion should be fun" is what Swedish designer Anna Holtblad says, and this motto permeates this small, tasteful and charming boutique at Grev Turegatan. The shop was designed by Anna's partner, architect Thomas Sandell, who greatly influenced the design of Stockholm's restaurants and shops in the 1990s. The clothes are stylistically pure, of a high quality and traditional, while they also manage to reflect our time. The high prices reflect the beauty of the designs and the quality. The items are made with very few copies, so the chances of running into someone with the same pink trousers are very slim.

Antikvariat Oceanen

Books from floor to ceiling
Sveavägen 104
Stockholm 113 50
Sweden
+46 8 673 7300
This is a popular second-hand bookshop. Once you have passed the entrance it is no more than ten metres until you have reached the end of the store. That doesn't mean that there are few books here, though: what they have done here is use the height of the ceiling. Standing on the floor looking up at the highest bookshelves might make you feel a little dizzy. The range of books are mostly fiction and if you spend some time here you will probably find really good books here.

This indoor market is located in the basement of the movie theatre Filmstaden Sergel. A visit to this place is like taking a culinary trip around the world. Fish, meat, cheese, coffee, tea, bread, spices, flowers, exotic specialties and delicacies—you will find it all here at Hötorgshallen. There is also an outdoor market, which offers a variety of fruits and vegetables, all at very reasonable prices. The most fun part of this shopping experience though, is the haggling!

Pastel-coloured T-shirts with rubber prints of Hindu gods can be found here, along with saris and batik skirts. Svenskt Tenn

A Swedish Classic
Strandvägen 5
Stockholm 114 84
Sweden
+46 8 670 1600
http://www.svenskttenn.se
Svenskt Tenn is as natural a part of Swedish design as the herring is of the smorgasbord. The company was started by Estrid Ericsson in 1927. During the 1930s, she worked with the Austrian architect Josef Frank, and together they developed the store's philosophy: a home is never complete-it is under constant development. It was Josef Frank who designed the famous patterns filled with insects, flowers, birds and trees that have been synonymous with Svenskt Tenn. The store offers textiles, furniture, lamps and gifts. There is something for everyone, regardless of whether you like cool, or a more classic style. The prices are high, but everything is of top quality- from candy to couches. You can purchase wedding gifts also.
