Books from floor to ceiling |
Sveavägen 104 Stockholm 113 50 Sweden +46 8 673 7300 |
This is a popular second-hand bookshop. Once you have passed the entrance it is no more than ten metres until you have reached the end of the store. That doesn't mean that there are few books here, though: what they have done here is use the height of the ceiling. Standing on the floor looking up at the highest bookshelves might make you feel a little dizzy. The range of books are mostly fiction and if you spend some time here you will probably find really good books here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Barnens Böcker is an establishment with a difference—a bookshop just for children, with an excellent range of reading material. And for those who are still too small to read, there are audiobooks and CD ROMs to play with, or video films to watch. In addition to all of this, the store sells a lot of toys and accessories with themese such as fantasy and cartoons. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A bookshop of surprises |
Kista Centrum Stockholm 164 42 Sweden +46 (0)8 642 6710 |
Berggren's bookshop in Kista stocks books on most subjects, with a really impressive range. Occasionally prices are fabulously low on a number of titles - no one knows how they manage to do it. Another bonus is the regular visits and lectures given by fairly famous authors to promote their latest books; on these occasions you will also be able to get hold of signed copies. A unique book store |
Karlaplan 5B Stockholm 114 60 Sweden +46 8 661 6883 http://www.teosofiskasamfundet... |
Bokhandeln Studio is really a unique book store. Not only does it have books of unusual themes but also does not run for profit. Its books explore the concept of the universe and life, from a scientific as well as from theosophic point of view. There is a great collection on the philosopher, J. Krishnamurti. It is also well-stocked with books on Hinduism and Yoga. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The possibility of losing track of time in Bokmagasinet is high. This store is well-stocked with new and second-hand books of every kind. Tidevarvet is the section selling second-hand books on twentieth-century literature, while Läseleket, has second-hand books for children. The biggest attraction though is the section on sale. This place has been around since 1963, and has a huge loyal clientele. It is very well-organised, with a great selection of books on art, history, and biographies. Today, it has two branches, one in Karlapan and the other in Fältöversten. The multimedia section in this branch has a good selection of CD-ROM titles and is just as popular as the book section.
