Gustav Vasa Church

Stockholm's largest church
Karlbergsvägen 7
Stockholm 102 39
Sweden
+46 (0)8 5088 8632
http://www.gustafvasa.nu/
Gustaf Vasakyrkan at Odenplan was consecrated in 1906. It is the largest church in Stockholm, and seats over 1,500 people. The church has been designed like the Italian Baroque churches. The altar is massive and is partly modelled like the Jesuit church Il Gesù in Rome. Morning service is held every Sunday at 11a.

Karlbergs slott

Palace by lake Karlberg
Karlbergs Slottsväg
Stockholm 17173
Sweden

Karlberg palace is beautifully situated by lake Karlberg, and it feels entirely isolated in spite of being located practically in the centre. The palace is used as military barracks today, but if you pass by at night you may see the famous ghost, The White Lady, appear at one of the windows. The palace is not open to the public, but this is a very peaceful and pleasant spot for a stroll, especially when the pulse of the city becomes too fast and unbearable.

The Chinese Pavilion at Drottningholm Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Orignally, it was a birthday gift to Queen Louisa Ulrica by King Adolphus Frederick in 1754. Unfortunately, the original pavilion succumbed to the effects of bad weather. The existing pavilion, which is as beautiful, was built by one of Sweden's leading Rococo architects, CF Adelcrantz, in 1768. The pavilion was once a vacation home for the Royal Family but is now a café open to the general public.

Rålambshovs Park

Stockholm's Hyde Park
Norr Mälarstrand/ Västerbroplan
Stockholm 112
Sweden
+46 (0)8 5082 8508 (Turistbyra)
This is Stockholm's Hyde Park. In the summer, Ralambshovsparken is really crowded, but as it's so big, it's not too cramped. The view over Riddarfjarden is breathtakingly beautiful and soothing, and the water is perfect for swimming. You'll find children playing all over the playground, and cafes and ice cream parlours are located at walking distance. With its large open spaces, Ralambshovsparken is perfect for various team sports. The Stockholm City Theatre's Park Theatre performs at this venue. And there are free aerobics classes conducted four times a week. This is one big playground for both kids as well as adults.

Tärnö Brewery

Kungsholmen's own brewery
Svarvargatan 7
Stockholm 112
Sweden

http://www.nilsoscar.se/
Kungsholmen is one of the few neighbourhoods in Stockholm which can boast of its own brewery. Known as Tärnö Bryggeri since it was bought over by Tärnö Säteri, it is a great place for a couple of beers with friends. The entire beer production process, from growing of the grain to preparation of the actual beer, is carried out here. Lundgren's Lager, with the famous fury snowman logo, is not only the brewery's first product but also its most famous.
