Brays has been a Balmain fixture since the suburb was an enclave for a thriving community of artists and writers. Established in 1969, Brays--like the rest of Balmain--has since been stylishly renovated, with polished floors, deep, wooden shelves and skylights making browsing an absolute pleasure. Continuing its support for local writers, Brays has a huge range of Australian fiction located at the front of the shop, as well as a wide selection of international authors, children's titles, travel guides, and audio books.
