If you had to nominate an Australian national dish, it would probably be the meat pie. Like those other quintessentially Australian icons (football, kangaroos and Holden cars), the meat pie has a way of evoking the patriot in all of us. King Wally's Pies have a bit of history to them too; they were one of the early winners of the Great Aussie Meat Pie competition at the Royal Easter Show.
