Framed by two dates that symbolise the Aboriginal quest for reconciliation, this week offers all Australians the chance to participate in a ceremonial gathering and associated fringe events and exhibitions. May 27 is the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum giving the Commonwealth the power to make laws for Aboriginal people. June 3 marks the anniversary of the High Court of Australia's judgement in the 1992 recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the original inhabitants of the continent.
