Field of dreams for home run fans. Finished in 2004, the Bright House Networks Field is home to the Clearwater Threshers, the Phillies' Class A affiliate in the Florida State League, and the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies currently hold their spring practice here, rather than Carpenter Field. Bright House field comes fully equipped with 7000 fixed seats with grass berm seating for an additional 1500, a tiki-hut pavilion in left field, group picnic areas, party suites, children's play area and state-of-the-art video scoreboard.

Take evening beach walks and learn about Florida's exotic birds at the Florida Birding Festival and Nature Expo, one of the largest birding events in the U.S. Noted birding experts hold seminars, and kids can learn to build a birdhouse. The butterfly tent is a great photo opportunity, with hundreds of the delicate creatures. A count of migrating species in the area is taken during the festival, which draws hosts of enthusiastic birders. Proceeds benefit the Pinellas County Environmental Foundation.

The strawberry is king at this annual festival that takes place in the winter strawberry capital of the world. Every day is jammed with events including the infamous strawberry shortcake-eating contest. Famous music acts, juried shows, a grand parade, an assortment of rides for adults and children, games of chance and a wide variety of food highlight the event. Plant City is a tiny town. To find the festival, take I-4 east from Tampa to Exit 10, Branch Forbes Road, or Exit 11, Thonotosassa Road, and follow the signs.

Annually, this amphitheater hosts 30-40 events. This $23 million-construction has a 20,000 seating capacity, and is known for being a great concert venue. The Ford Amphitheatre will play host to concerts from late July to December. VIP Box and Season Seats for 2005 are on sale now, you can check the website for more details. Travis Tritt, Neville Brothers, Newsboys and Tommy Cash are slated to perform this year.
