From four-foot waves in the Endless Surf wave pool to body flumes, twisting water slides and thrill rides that splash and slither, this 26-acre park at Busch Gardens is as much fun for I'm-a-kid-again adults as it is for children. You can camp here, too, for a modest charge of $15. Open March to October, the park keeps varying hours that generally run from 10am-6pm daily. Hours change, however, so it's wise to check. Admission is $35.95 adults; $33.95 ages 3-9, excl. taxes. Review © 2007, Wcities |

One of St. Pete's distinguished downtown night venues, the Landing features a variety of rock, alternative and Western musical performers. Dress casually, sit in the open air and order from a full bar while nibbling light fare from the small menu. Jannus Landing is not large, but actually seeing the show is not always easy; there are benches to stand on to see over other people. The Green Room nightclub draws the crowds when no acts are performing at the courtyard. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Surrealist artist's intriguing work |
1000 3rd St S Tampa, FL 33701 United States +1 727 823 3767 http://www.salvadordalimuseum.org |
Housing the largest collection of Salvador Dali works in the world, the museum offers a regularly changing exhibit of the legendary surrealist artist's melting-watch canvases and a wide variety of his sculpture and fiber objects that are, at the very least, intriguing. One memorable creation toasts the cocktail party; it is a vest covered with full glasses of creme de menthe. Daily tours seek to explain this complex man and his equally complex art. In the museum store you can select a memento of your surreal experience. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Local favorite night spot |
114 8th Ave Tampa, FL 33706 United States +1 727 360 8279 |
This bar features bikers, beach bums and billiards. Throw in a bartender who knows how to entertain and it all adds up to a quaint local hideaway. Here is a chance to get off the beaten path and away from the glitz to enjoy the local flavor and a cold beer. Do not expect to eat, however, as this saloon does not serve food. The music is loud and the crowd louder, so this is not a place for children or the faint of heart, but it is lots of fun for everyone else. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Unique injured bird sanctuary |
18328 Gulf Blvd Tampa, FL 33309 United States +1 727 391 6211 http://www.seabirdsanctuary.org/ |
Years ago, conservationist and zoologist Ralph Heath, Jr. set up a non-profit organization designed to rescue, repair and rehabilitate wild birds suffering from the injuries of contemporary civilization. Pelicans with hooks in their beaks, gulls with broken wings and all the casualties of the injured bird world recover here, making this a squawking stop where birds eat from the hands of their keepers. This sanctuary will tug at your heartstrings, and if the tug's hard enough, you can adopt your own bird with a donation. Admission is free. Review © 2007, Wcities |
