This is one of the city's most highly anticipated summer events. One weekend in the summer, the streets of downtown Vancouver are transformed into a world-class racing circuit. For three days, drivers compete for the Indy Car chequered flag at speeds exceeding 300 kilometres per hour. More than 150,000 people attend the seat-rattling event each year.
