This not-for-profit arts centre has been advancing the cause of women artists since its 1984. It provides a space where art by women can be registered and documented, allowing quick access to information and works. The centre also serves as a reference library where artists, researchers, art organizations, curators, teachers and students can learn about more than 2,500 female artists through printed and audio-visual materials. The centre also holds workshops, exhibitions and conferences, and puts out a quarterly magazine, Matriart. Admission is free. Review © 2009, Wcities |
