This event is held every May in the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, 24 kilometres north of Toronto. It is organized by the York Region Health Services. Children from various schools learn the importance of water conservation through games and activities. Lectures on lives of Aboriginals, oil slicks, hygiene, fresh water bodies and simulations of fire-fighting are part of the event. Information about how a city's drainage system works and quantity of water consumed in daily activities is also given. For participation of school students in the festival check the Web site or call for details. Review © 2009, Wcities |
