Pizza and fish in the shade of an enormous tree |
Via Kosovel, 3 Trieste 34100 Italy +39 40 922 0163 / +39 40 922 1140 |
It is not by chance that the name of the place translates as 'The Lime Tree'. At the centre of the garden of this beautiful restaurant stands an enormous lime tree, which is already over 120 years old. Here, at the heart of the town of Basovizza, in the welcoming internal rooms, or under the branches of the old tree, you can opt for a nice pizza or if you prefer, a fish based dish. But Trieste is where you should be eating fish; here we are high up and although the air may be good, we are far from the sea. There is extra seating for 200 in the garden. For an intimate evening, perhaps in summer, this is the ideal place. Review © 2007, Wcities |
