Popular and sought after........ |
Strada al traforo di Pino, 23 Turin 10132 Italy +39 11 899 8733 |
Located on the Turin hill, at the foot of the Superga basilica, Hennessy is one of the most popular discos in Turin and lately one of the trendiest venues. With an excellent atmosphere, it is also popular with Torino and Juventus players, who like to pass the evening here. The disco is made up of two rooms, one large circular room with columns and a staggered dance floor where trendy music is played, and a private room which plays the best rock revival music from the 1960's, 70's and 80's. The materials used to decorate the club give it a tasteful, luxurious feel; wood and velvet embellish the interiors. The private room can be hired for birthdays, parties and themed evenings. In summer the disco becomes open air but still maintains the same style and quality. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tradition and prestige |
Piazza Castello, 215 Turin 10124 Italy +39 11 881 5557 / +39 11 881 5241 http://www.teatroregio.torino.... |
The idea of building this theater started in 1713 when the Duke of Savoy became the King of Piedmont, but they had to wait until 1738 before any work began. Designed by Filippo Juvarra, it was built by Benedetto Alfieri and opened to the public in 1749. A fire in 1936 and second world war bombings destroyed the Regio, which was then rebuilt to a plan by the architect Carlo Molino and the engineer Marcello Zavelani-Rossi in 1966, and reopened in 1973. There is a large plaque on the ground at the entrance to the theater which has the dates 1740-1973 engraved in Roman numerals. The Baroque style is luxurious and perfectly suited to a theater which offers the most famous operas in the world. There are four wheelchairs for disabled visitors. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Original to the max |
Via Santa Teresa, 10 Turin 10121 Italy +39 11 518 7107 |
This is one of the newest bars in Turin and one of the most noteworthy. Its name is a tribute to the building's former use as a theatre where shows run by the famous Erminio Macario were performed. This enchanting place has extremely hi-tech architecture and the thousand square metres are subdivided into three floors. The dance floor is particularly eye catching, as it is built on what was once the stage. A visit to this original venue is a must. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This central cinema is hard to miss thanks to the large windows which surround the entrance and are covered with posters. The cinema itself is similar to a theatre, with stalls and a balcony. The balcony is very popular with young people, so if you prefer to not be disturbed choose the stalls! Nevertheless, the sound is very good. Tickets EUR 3-7. Review © 2007, Wcities |
