The Main Station |
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II Turin 10125 Italy http://www.torinoportanuova.it... |
The Porta Nuova station is also known as Central Station. It opens onto Piazza Carlo Felice, which separates it from Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. A majestic and imposing building, it could be said to be one of the most successful railway stations of the 19th century. One of its most interesting features is its façade designed by Mazzucchetti and Ceppi (1866-1868). In the lower half of the facade there are many porticos and elegant arches. During the Christmas season it is decorated with an illumination implant which makes its structure stand out. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Turin's second station |
Piazza XVIII dicembre, 8 Turin 10122 Italy +39 (0)11 53 8513 |
Porta Susa is Turin's second most important train station. Many of the city commuters pass through here each day, but also many tourists. The Paris-Turin overnight train arrives here, for example. Built in 1856 and recently enlarged, the station stands in Piazza 18th December, at the end of Via Cernaia and a couple of steps from Piazza Statuto. It is connected to the rest of the city by trams and buses but suffers from a serious shortage of parking spaces. All those that do exist are also parking meters. Inside there are bars, newspaper kiosks, and a recently constructed McDonalds. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Regional transport |
Corso Turati, 19/6 Turin 10128 Italy http://www.satti.it/home01.html |
Satti' is a company which specialises in transport links from the city centre to the northern and southern peripheries of the city. Given the large distances its characteristic blue coaches have to cover, they are not always on time. Tickets: These should be purchased at sales points which are generally located near the main stops. They can also be bought on board the coaches, but tickets bought this way will be subject to a supplementary charge. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Small, little-known station |
Piazza Baldissera, 7 Turin 10155 Italy +39 11 85 0275 |
This is a tiny, little-known station - even amongst the locals. Regional trains (operated by the transport company 'Satti') run from here to various towns and villages on the northern periphery of the city. Review © 2007, Wcities |
