The Porta Nuova station is also known as Central Station. It opens onto Piazza Carlo Felice, which separates it from Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. A majestic and imposing building, it could be said to be one of the most successful railway stations of the 19th century. One of its most interesting features is its façade designed by Mazzucchetti and Ceppi (1866-1868). In the lower half of the facade there are many porticos and elegant arches.
