Luxury restaurant-café |
Avenida de Aragón, 40 Valencia 46021 Spain +34 96 361 9365 |
You'll find this restaurant and café on Aragón Avenue, in the most modern area of Valencia, also known as "the new centre of town". The first impressive feature you see is its large open air terrace with an excellent and refined ambiance. Just behind it and inside is the deluxe restaurant, divided into two floors, with mirrors, white doors, marble stairs and generally very classic decor. It generally attracts the local business people and the well-to-do. Its high quality menu is very complete and varied, the fresh fish standing out among the rest. They also have a very exclusive wine list with good Spanish wines primarily. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting for lunch or dinner, but also to kill the time when the kitchen is closed and it turns into a wonderful café in a luxurious setting. Coffee shop plus meals |
Avenida de Aragón, 18 Valencia 46021 Spain +34 96 360 1442 |
This small cafe's large sunny open air terrace spreads along Avenida Aragon. Its clientele, mostly well-off, sunbathe and have fun while drinking a delicious cafe del tiempo, the Valencian version of iced coffee. Inside, the decor is sober and modern, with black tables wisely placed to get the most out of the space available. They have daily set menus which vary depending on the day of the week, and are always a good option. On the weekends the menus are substituted by combo platters, and the generally well-to-do crowd, by the young and not so young, who have chosen this busy cafeteria as their meeting point on a night out. Spanish restaurant, lots of tapas |
Gascó Oliag, 8 Valencia 46010 Spain |
If you know something about Spain, you have probably heard about tapas, a typical way to eat that is both healthy and fun. Damy offers you a huge selection of them; particularly outstanding are the ham and seafood tapas. This restaurant/bar is a fantastic place to chill out and have a good time in one of the best areas of Valencia. It's a warm and lively sort of place, very popular with a youngish crowd (maybe because it's open so late). It is a good option to enjoy a good meal and have a nice time. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great variety of beers and tapas |
plaza de la Reina, 19 Valencia 46003 Spain +34 96 392 3191 |
Just a five minute-walk from the centre, this is a popular bar. It's divided into two different parts: at the entrance, it's a tapas bar, where you can choose from a wide variety of beers and order some of the tapas they serve, such as fried baby squid, cuttlefish, Spanish omelette, Spanish spicy chorizo sausage and more. The decor is rustic in style, with huge beer barrels as tables. In addition to the variety of food, there is a good mix of music, ranging from flamenco to African beats, jazz and reggae, too. At the back, there is a traditional restaurant serving Spanish dishes. They have an excellent wine list, as well, among which the Via Aurelia stands out. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Typical Valencian restaurant |
Juan Ramón Jiménez, 5 El Vedat de Torrent Valencia 46901 Spain +34 96 155 1500 http://www.hotel-lido.net |
This restaurant is a fifteen-minute car ride from Valencia, situated in a residential area with fantastic views. You can enjoy a good meal while surrounded by Nature, breathing fresh pine-scented air. The Hotel Lido serves the best of traditional Valencian dishes, that is, the healthy and well-known Mediterranean diet, made up of all kinds of rice combined with meat, fish and vegetables. The house specialty is called Rossetjat Torrentí, based on rice, chickpeas, potatoes and meat. They also serve an ample selection of wines. Without a doubt, this restaurant is an ideal choice for those who wish to leave the city behind for a couple of hours. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Typical Basque restaurant |
Convento Santa Clara, 9 Valencia 46001 Spain +34 96 351 6743 |
In the centre of Mediterranean and sunny Valencia, this Basque tavern stands out, bringing all the style and taste of the far north, to remind us of the great variety and contrasts that exist within the Spanish territory. If its classic, typical and a bit rustic decoration recreates the Basque atmosphere, its exquisite menu represents the best of northern cuisine, in which fish dishes and its speciality, bacalao al pil-pil (delicious codfish recipe) stand out. They offer a late breakfast menu and a fantastic daily menu, making this restaurant the paradise for fish and Basque cuisine lovers. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Spanish restaurant specialized in meat. |
Luz Casanova, 5 Valencia 46010 Spain +34 96 365 8763 |
Are you a meat and potatoes kind of person? In that case, this restaurant is meant for you. Monte Orandi offers you not only top-quality meat, but also the best professionals to cook it. Your choice of cut is grilled in plain view, so that you can enjoy it before eating, becoming a pleasure both for your eyes and for your tastebuds. Its luxurious decoration matches the quality of its menus. Of course they have the best red wines from Spain on offer. They also provide customers with private parking facilities. This restaurant could certainly make the most hardcore vegetarian change his/her mind. Review © 2007, Wcities |
