Luxury restaurant-café |
Avenida de Aragón, 40 Valencia 46021 Spain +34 96 361 9365 |
You'll find this restaurant and café on Aragón Avenue, in the most modern area of Valencia, also known as "the new centre of town". The first impressive feature you see is its large open air terrace with an excellent and refined ambiance. Just behind it and inside is the deluxe restaurant, divided into two floors, with mirrors, white doors, marble stairs and generally very classic decor. It generally attracts the local business people and the well-to-do. Its high quality menu is very complete and varied, the fresh fish standing out among the rest. They also have a very exclusive wine list with good Spanish wines primarily. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting for lunch or dinner, but also to kill the time when the kitchen is closed and it turns into a wonderful café in a luxurious setting. Coffee shop plus meals |
Avenida de Aragón, 18 Valencia 46021 Spain +34 96 360 1442 |
This small cafe's large sunny open air terrace spreads along Avenida Aragon. Its clientele, mostly well-off, sunbathe and have fun while drinking a delicious cafe del tiempo, the Valencian version of iced coffee. Inside, the decor is sober and modern, with black tables wisely placed to get the most out of the space available. They have daily set menus which vary depending on the day of the week, and are always a good option. On the weekends the menus are substituted by combo platters, and the generally well-to-do crowd, by the young and not so young, who have chosen this busy cafeteria as their meeting point on a night out. Spanish restaurant, lots of tapas |
Gascó Oliag, 8 Valencia 46010 Spain |
If you know something about Spain, you have probably heard about tapas, a typical way to eat that is both healthy and fun. Damy offers you a huge selection of them; particularly outstanding are the ham and seafood tapas. This restaurant/bar is a fantastic place to chill out and have a good time in one of the best areas of Valencia. It's a warm and lively sort of place, very popular with a youngish crowd (maybe because it's open so late). It is a good option to enjoy a good meal and have a nice time. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Famous horchatería (tiger nut juice) |
Avenida de la Horchata, 41 Valencia 46120 Spain +34 96 185 8866 |
If you want to try a good horchata (a cold drink made from tiger nuts and the most traditional drink in Valencia), this is the best place to go. Daniel has managed to stand out due to the excellent quality of its horchata, made with traditional methods. The staff are friendly and the place itself is large and comfy, so it's one of the most visited places both by locals and foreigners searching for something authentic. It's an experience worth living and repeating. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Delicious ice-cream and more |
Emilio Baró, 83 Valencia 46020 Spain +34 96 369 6585 |
You cannot leave Valencia without first trying an horchata, a typical drink made from the chufla plant. The original is from Alboraya, a town within the region of Valencia. If you can't make it there, don't worry as the horchaterías throughout the city, such as this one, are good sources for this refreshing and unique drink. Rin is not just an horchatería, but also an ice-cream parlour and café. It has two branches in Valencia and another in Alboraya. They make their own drinks and ice-cream. You can also try some of their fresh pastries; the traditional fartón is another must and the perfect accompaniment to the horchata. Horchatería Rin also has its own convenient car-park for patrons. The house specialty is called Rossetjat Torrentí, based on rice, chickpeas, potatoes and meat. They also serve an ample selection of wines. Indian restaurant in nice area |
Poeta Artolá, 13 Valencia 46021 Spain +34 96 369 8203 |
Are you open to different cultures and specially to their exquisite food? In that case, the Palacio de Cristal opens its doors for you to Oriental delicacies and to its exotic atmosphere. The best Indian and Pakistani cuisine and the elaborate decor will make you think you have been dropped in the middle of a scene out of the Thousand and One Nights. The rice dishes and special breads stand out. The Nan or Chess Nan are good options to accompany the various curries on offer, hot or mild. Tea, of course, is the best drink, but there are many other options. Its relatively affordable price is an added reason to try the delicious food on offer. Whether you're already a fan of Indian food or not, you won't regret stopping by. Review © 2007, Wcities |

All the best Tex-Mex |
Blasco Ibáñez, 110 Valencia 46021 Spain +34 96 360 2563 |
This large and modern Tex-mex restaurant offers the best of the cooking from the far west. It is an American franchise decorated with Native American photos and objects, a bit like in the old movies. To eat there is a huge variety of food, including ribs (half or full plate), quesadillas, chicken wings, hamburgers, pizza and pasta. For dessert, the brownies and the choco-cheesecake, along with other typically American desserts, are recommended. You have to go with an appetite because the portions are enormous. There is good beer imported from Mexico such as "Pacifico" and "Modelo", and, of course, they play country music. Review © 2007, Wcities |
