Off-Stage Amusement
1585 Johnston Street
(Granville Island)
Vancouver, BC V6H 3R9
Canada
+1 604 687 1354
http://www.artsclub.com/onstag...
This lounge is a popular place for a creative crowd. Nightly shows make the watering hole a prime locale to enjoy live musical and comedy acts. The menu is predominantly West Coast-style cuisine: spicy chicken wings or large platters of nachos with dip are popular orders at less than CAD10. With the large variety of liquor lining the bar's back wall, it is obvious that drinks are this institution's specialty. Locally brewed ales are constantly in demand and worth a taste. See website for complete menu and monthly entertainment calendar.

The 1,000-capacity venue, located downtown, has a history of amazing performances ranging from Dizzy Gillespie and Tina Turner to Nirvana and the Clash, along with modern artists like Stereolab and the Flaming Lips. Located downtown on the False Creek waterfront across from B.C. Place, this was once the heart of the city's 1986 World Exposition. The modern building continues to be a popular gathering place. The complex serves as a multiple-use facility, and its waterfront access makes it a popular place for indoor and outdoor community events, concerts and conventions. Part of its current appeal, especially with young people, is the array of shops, restaurants, and pubs that surround it.
