A fusion of international flavors |
1215 Bidwell Street Vancouver, BC V6G 2K7 Canada +1 604 689 8822 http://www.balthazarvancouver.... |
This massive downtown restaurant is the perfect place to don black and sport the mod doo. Everything about the place oozes cool, with earthy tones and enough sex appeal to bring out the hip crowd. Although being seen is a big draw, the menu backs up the atmosphere with an eclectic offering of appetizers, wood fired pizzas and upscale a main menu that includes creative spins of seafood and steaks. The 'Bordello Room' bar area has expands the chill out ambiance with an intimate space warmed by a fireplace, shrouded in soft red lighting and dotted with comfy chairs and sofas. It serves what so many other city restaurants have gone gaga over - fusion tapas. There are a wide variety of choices, from Asian-inspired seafood picks to vegetarian creations. Juicy steaks and fish |
2656 Eastbrook Parkway Vancouver, BC V5C 5W2 Canada +1 604 294 4626 http://www.kegsteakhouse.com/ |
This suburban eatery has everything one would expect in the steak section. Holed up in a secluded area, the ambience is warm and welcoming, with an efficient staff on hand. Settle down and begin with the Scallops & Bacon (bacon-wrapped scallops in a Martini cocktail sauce). The well-done Sirloin steaks, accompanied by the house salad or a juicy sprig of asparagus are a pleasure to bite into, but for something different, try the Classic dinners. A plethora of traditional steaks, including Filet Mignon and some rare combinations feature on the menu. Ribs and chicken dishes are available too, as are sumptuous fish medallions. A kids' menu makes this all the more a family place, so bring the gang along! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Bistro ambience |
8166 Main St Vancouver, BC V5X 3L6 Canada +1 604 323 8093 |
Two things separate this South Vancouver restaurant from other Chinese eateries of its calibre: it serves portions big enough to satisfy western appetites, and it has the ambience of an intimate bistro. The power-lunching business crowd seems to like it here. The dining room is small but elegant, with mirrored walls, glass-topped tables and white tablecloths. The requisite Chinese decorations and piped-in music are here, too. A typical feast might include barbecued duck, spring rolls and hot-and-sour soup for starters; and ginger prawns, crispy chicken, sautéed beef and broccoli, and steamed vegetables for the main course.
