This event is the rematch of the Historical Regatta that takes place early in September and concludes the Venetian rowing season. Take a vaporetto boat from Fondamente Nove in the Canareggio quarter to the serene island of Burano. Get here early and wander around the calli and campi filled with colourful houses before taking your place on the shore to watch the race. The proceedings start with the juniors flexing their muscles and are followed by a women's event. In the early evening, the gruelling and eagerly awaited double-oared puparini is not to be missed.
