The first edition of Navalia – Venice's wooden boat show, held at the Venice Arsenale – was an extraordinary success and positioned itself straight at the top of wooden boat shows. This year's edition, from 9-12 May, is supposed to be even more promising: the exhibition area has been expanded, exhibitors can enjoy the pleasures of a well-serviced network and it features a series of impressive cultural events. There will be a number of international and national conferences on wooden vessels, and during the show, the national award for the best restoration will be announced. This year Navalia will include some new features, such as painters of the sea and a second-hand wooden boat market. Review © 2007, Wcities |

For the third time, and for three days, photography fans can once more view the hundreds of photographs on display at the Venice Exhibition of Photography. This year the focus is on the "question of photography" itself, i.e. on the importance of the role of photography as a means of artistic communication on its own. Dealers, gallery owners, photographers and buyers from all over the world are expected. The exhibition is on at the Marittima Terminal Passeggeri, from 8-10 March. Review © 2007, Wcities |
