Opened in 1909, this was the first open-air artificial ice rink in the world, and the Engelmann family has had a long and auspicious history in figure skating: family members can claim numerous World Championship and Olympic medals. Rental skates are included in the admission cost, and hot drinks and snacks are available for the cold and/or tired. Call ahead to ensure that free skating is available.

This pool, opened in 1914, was built in the Wiener Werkstaetten style by architect Friedrich Jäckel. It was and still is a weekly swimming training area for Viennese pupils. In 1978, the bath was renovated and now also offers an open-air swimming pool, open from May to September. Furthermore, there is a sauna, solarium, coiffeur and restaurant.

When the Kongressbad opened in the year 1928, it was instantly a Viennese classic. Here you will find a sports pool, an adventure pool, a big water chute and a childrens pool with play ground. The visitor may also play tennis, table tennis, boccia, ballgames, or just relax in the restaurant.

Unlike most typical cycle rentals, which are usually only open during the warm season, Vienna's train stations offer bikes to rent the whole year around, so visitors can even go on a cycling tour in February. The rent for a city-bike is EUR12 per day and is even cheaper with a train ticket. For more than one bike, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance.
