Street spots and fun parks |

Downtown Vienna, the skaters meet at two street locations: in the Resselpark, in front of the Karlskirche, station Karlsplatz (U1, U2 U4), and in front of the Ministry of traffic (Radetzkystrasse 2), station Schwedenplatz (U1, U4). Fun parks are in the Prater Hauptallee, corner Rustenschacher Allee, access via station Praterstern (U1) and then on the quite shaky ground the Hauptallee direction East. Unfortunately there isn't a halfpipe there. Another one is in the Auer Welsbach Park, station Schönbrunn (U4) or station Anschützgassse (52, 58), where a halfpipe can be found. The fascination for mountain biking is wide spread in and around Vienna. The discussion about cycle tracks flared up because of the preservation of its woods and the animals. Now the biker and the people defending the woods have agreed to set defined paths for mountain bikers to use, which are in use from March to October. There is also a code of conduct for the biker: take care of the woods and animals, and watch out for walkers! On the website, you will find all the information needed: a catalogue of different tours for the family, information on fun or power biking, a description of the paths and altitude indications. They also list bike rentals and restaurants! Review © 2007, Wcities |
