Nudist area for many years |
In der Bien Vienna 1220 Austria |
The visitors to the Lobau, which is situated in the south-eastern part of Vienna, are in comple contrast to the visitors to the Copa Cagrana. For 100 years people are coming here because of the freedom to go bathing completely naked. Obviously they have been so liberal on occasions that they have got themselves into trouble, but this is a thing of the past. Today you have to walk or to take the bike to come here, because this natural region may not be accessed by cars. By public transport, you take the bus #91A to Ölhafen Neue Donau. On the Copa Cagrana boats are mostly not rented for sport, more they are used as floating sun-terraces for sun worshippers. Boats are available normally from 1st of May, (or if the weather is good from Easter), until autumn. Due to the activities in this region, the boats do not have to be brought back until midnight or 1 o´clock in the morning. They rent pedal-boats and electric boats. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This pool, opened in 1914, was built in the Wiener Werkstaetten style by architect Friedrich Jäckel. It was and still is a weekly swimming training area for Viennese pupils. In 1978, the bath was renovated and now also offers an open-air swimming pool, open from May to September. Furthermore, there is a sauna, solarium, coiffeur and restaurant. Review © 2007, Wcities |

When the Kongressbad opened in the year 1928, it was instantly a Viennese classic. Here you will find a sports pool, an adventure pool, a big water chute and a childrens pool with play ground. The visitor may also play tennis, table tennis, boccia, ballgames, or just relax in the restaurant. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The open air bath for beautiful people |

Have a look at the brands of the cars in the parking area here - you will see that everybody here is reaching for the sky. There are many reasons for this, and certainly not only the fact that this public pool is situated high on a mountain and has a spectacular view. Here you may enjoy one of the three recently refurbished pools or meet at the champagne bar. For the more sporty people, there are opportunities to play beach volleyball, soccer or table tennis. Fun in the sun--indoors |

When it's cold outside, why not come to an indoor swimming pool? This facility also offers a sauna, whirlpool and eucalyptus bath. Massage and quiet rooms are also available to help relieve your stress and revive yourself from a hectic work schedule. But, don't think this is just for adults; children are very much welcome and catered to at this facility. Birthday parties can also be arranged. The hours are very generous, and the prices aren't bad either. Call for specifics as there are many variables based on time blocks and activities. A child's day card for swimming is EUR12 and an adult's day card is EUR20. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Historic open-air bath |
Arbeiterstrandbadstrasse 91 Vienna, Vienna 1220 Austria +43 1 263 6538 http://www.wien.gv.at/baeder/s... |
This area of the Old Danube was acquired by the blue and white collar workers in the past and there were certain difficulties associated with it. The style, the names of the streets and the public swimming pools in the neighborhood; for example, the Eisenbahnerbad (pool of the railway workers), still remind us of its ancient Viennese history. Today this public pool has been extended to accommodate modern pools and a lot more sports facilities. The old poplar trees give a wonderful shade in the heat of the summer. Review © 2007, Wcities |
