Das Möbel is a mixture of student-style coffee house and gallery—a gallery displaying furniture that is. The huge place offers enough space for young designers and ambitious cabinet-makers to present their work to the public. All the pieces are normally on sale, although they don't come cheap. But then, who could pass up the chance of a one-off chair, table or sofa in their living room. Not surprisingly, Das Möbel also sells good Viennese coffee and a decent menu, featuring a diverse mix of dishes as well as vegetarian cooking. Review © 2009, Wcities |
