Kahlenberg Great views of Vienna's woodlands

One of the most popular places from which to admire the view of Vienna is Kahlenberg (484m), the higher of the two hills that rise to the north of Vienna close to the Danube. A viewing platform and a cafe with a magnificent terrace and very Viennese (and therefore always slightly grumpy) waiters are perched at the top. The entire place is overrun by coachloads of tourists each weekend (which explains the number of souvenir stalls), but it is definitely worth visiting for the stunning views.
