Variations on the dish Fladen |
Kleeblattgasse 5 Vienna, Vienna A-1010 +43 1 533 5225 |
Tucked away in a dark street in the 1st District, the Kolar is not easy to find, but it is well worth the effort to do so. In fact, this place is not so much a restaurant as a dark and cozy cellar bar with vaulted ceilings. Despite the cellar bar setting, the Kolar is famous and popular (mainly with students) for its own unique dish, the Flade. A Flade is made of pizza dough which is like a pizza; baked in an oven then sliced and filled with delicacies like ham, cheese, mushrooms, quark, garlic, onions and spinach. Try the special "Kolar-Flade" with ham, cheese and quark with garlic or the daily special Flade. Review © 2009, Wcities |
