The most unusual fact about this building is its owner: Mr. Lugner, head of a building enterprise, ran for the Austrian presidential elections! He didn't succeed in politics, but his shopping centre proved much more successful. You will find more than 70 shops, mainly branches of large chains, such as Hennes & Mauritz (clothes), Humanic (shoes) and Libro (books and CDs). On the ground floor, there is the large Merkur Markt, a super market with an excellent choice of international and exotic foods, fresh and deep-frozen produce. A stage is also fitted to host game shows and musicians. Once in a while Mr. Lugner and his family come by; shake hands with a former candidate for the presidency! Review © 2009, Wcities |
