The Figaro House |
Domgasse 5 Schulerstraße 8 Vienna, Wien 1010 +43 1 911 9077 / +43 1 513 6294 http://www.mozarthaus.at |
The Mozarthaus is more commonly known as the Figarohaus as it was here that Mozart composed the Marriage of Figaro between 1784-7. This charming Baroque house, located behind Stephansdom is now a Mozart museum however there is very little in the way of original memorabilia. You can inspect reproductions of his scores and listen to his music on headphones, but this is only really for Amadeus fanatics. The back entrance takes you into the medieval Blutgasse where there are numerous delightful inner courtyards well worth a visit. Review © 2009, Wcities |
