Prachner labels itself as "The Family Bookstore," but it is really much more! Established in 1931 as a single bookshop it has since developed into the areas of publishing and distributing, while of course remaining as a retailer with 4 locations including Kärntnerstraße (im Zentrum), MAK, Graz, and The British Bookshop. A large store with 3 floors, it provides quite an ample selection to choose from. Book topics include literature, history, politics, economics, culture, travel, sports, natural sciences and a large children's section. While most of the books are written in German, there is an impressive selection for English readers. Also available is a mail-order catalogue, so you can browse at home! Prices are quite reasonable with a range of EUR1-182 per book, but the store manager wants you to know that you can purchase an encyclopaedia set for EUR2,450 as well! Review © 2009, Wcities |
