A big hotel in the ninth district, Hotel Regina lies very close to the university and right behind the Votivkirche. Originally a palace and still retaining historic elements, the building has been a hotel since 1896 and today, due to its size, proves very popular with groups of tourists. It has a nice atmosphere throughout, with rugs, period furniture, crystal chandeliers and paintings, even though the rooms are not as perfect as the foyers.
