This stylish cinema on the banks of the Danube canal was originally opened as a community college called "The Vienna Urania". Nowadays it is used as a cinema, but also plays host to puppet-theatre, courses and conferences. Not your every day movie theatre, it has a particularly unique flair and its rounded foyer is a very popular place to meet for cinema enthusiasts, particularly around the time of year when the Vienna film festival is in full swing. Most of their screenings are in German, but from time to time original foreign language films are shown. No credit cards are accepted. Review © 2009, Wcities |
