Ludwig-Koeßler-Platz Vienna, Vienna 1030 +43 (0)1 786 0303 http://wiener-tramwaymuseum.org/index.htm |
Unfortunately, the Vienna Streetcar Museum is just open on weekends from May to October. Its collection comprises more than 80 historical streetcars. Among these is a horse-drawn trolley from 1871 and vehicles from the famous former "Stadtbahn" designed by Otto Wagner. For those who aren't content simply to visit the museum and see the exhibits, there is the opportunity to rent a historical "Bim"; around 20 people can travel in one, and it's possible to arrange one's own choice of route. Ask at the museum; costs per hour from EUR237; admission for the museum EUR2. Review © 2009, Wcities |
