Arlington, more so than Alexandria, is clearly part of contemporary Virginia. The smallest county in the US, it nevertheless boasts many major attractions including Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the U.S. Marines Corps War Memorial, and the Pentagon. The neighborhoods, or "urban villages," of Arlington offer diversity of landscape and people, from the urban feel, culture and nightlife of Ballston and Rosslyn to the laid-back community feel of Clarendon. Arlington is closely linked to downtown DC by bus, train and plenty of metro stops. Review © 2009, Wcities |
