The Banana Cafe is on Capitol Hill near Eastern Market. This popular restaurant serves Cuban, Puerto Rican and Tex-Mex dishes. The dining area is brightly lit with a tropical decor. The popular sounds of Latin music drift in from the piano bar. Stuffed yucca and plantain soup are perhaps the most exotic offerings, but there are also a number of fine poultry and vegetarian selections. The marinated pork carnitas are also extremely popular.
