Max's is a traditional American steakhouse favored by Washingtonians for its fine food. The decor is bold. Polished wood, red carpeting and large booths dominate the dining room, giving it a warm feel. The steaks come in enormous portions, but for those who prefer seafood to steak, the lobster salad is a fine house special. Close attention is paid to the desserts, especially the apple tart.
