For decades, single people in Washington have been coming to this bar south of Dupont Circle to meet other singles. It is likely that even those who do not do much clubbing have heard of Rumors. Although the busy happy hour scene from 4pm to 8pm attracts the business suits, a younger crowd arrives later in the evening. Most nights a DJ spins top-40 hits, enticing a crowd onto the dance floor by 11pm. The menu here includes the usual burgers, salads and pastas, and hearty entrees such as steaks and tuna steaks.
