Hidden away in a strip mall along Wisconsin Avenue, with its only entrance in the back, is Shemali's, a Greek market and deli that only a handful of Washingtonians seem to be aware of. Those in the know frequent the market to purchase imported olives, dates, feta cheese, pillow-like pita bread and other, more exotic ingredients. A small selection of alcoholic beverages is available. The market also has a small kitchen, where baklava is made fresh daily and Greek salads and sandwiches are made to order.
