Barracks

Value for money
231 Marine Parade
Seatoun
Wellington 6003
New Zealand

This old military barracks is located on one of the prime land sites in Wellington overlooking a good beach and the harbour entrance. It is primarily for backpackers, but is frequented by a range of visitors, including some military personnel. The prices are reasonable given the large range of facilities available such as cable television, laundry and telephone. There are five regular bus services in and out of this exclusive area. Great value for money.

Situated in a quiet and sunny street, this 1920s (refurbished in the 90s) motor inn in the central city provides easy access to many of Wellington's main attractions. Walk to the main shopping centres or stroll to Te Papa, the National Museum. Don't be fooled by the somewhat dodgy exterior, the rooms are spacious and clean and the prices are reasonable. Comfortable and friendly (even your dog is welcome by arrangement), experience the style of the 1920s but with the comforts of today.
