This suburban favourite dishes up great big mouthfuls of luscious burger most evenings. Wash it down with a shake and dream of America. Eat in at the counter or take out, either way the food is reasonably priced, tasty and filling. The franchise dictates slick and clean interior design with cream and maroon walls, wooden bar stools, lovely artwork and plenty of magazines. The Garlic and Mushroom Burger is tempting on a winter's night and the Chicken Avocado and Bacon is great anytime. Additional branches are in Brooklyn, Northland, Haitaitai, Petone.

Snack meals like pasta plus Greek mains and desserts predominate. Licensed with a solid range of New Zealand wines (NZD13 average price).

While they offer a good selection of wine and beer this is not a bar and so there are no gaming machine distractions or riotous customers. The food is filling and traditional. Try New Zealand's favourite - toasted sandwiches or perhaps a slap-up meal of bacon, egg and chips. Decor includes hand painted floors, creative wall decorations and a cosy fireplace. Fully licensed.

This small (seats 30), discreet restaurant is elegantly decked out. The dining room is non-smoking though there is a relaxing smoking room if you need a puff. Recipient of numerous awards including, the prestigious Corbans Fine Food Challenge Menu. The seasonal menu features Fish, Lamb and other carefully prepared local delicacies. The wine list is extensive; Cheese Platter of note. Expensive, but worth it.
