This is a tagged rainbow trout fishing derby with prize money totaling USD40,000. Each tagged trout receives a portion of the prize money. Before the derby, one trout is selected as the USD10,000 trout. In addition, approximately 150 of the tagged fish are worth USD100 each and the rest are worth USD20 each. Registration is USD20 per person or USD45 per family. A fishing license is required for all anglers 16 years and older. You can purchase a two-day fishing license at the event. This two-day festival is a celebration of Native American heritage. The festival is open to the public, and a great way to learn about local Native American culture. The celebration will feature traditional Miwok dancing and dress. Here, you will find traditional arts and crafts, as well as other Native American items. Some vendors may accept credit cards; however, admission and food purchases require cash. This family event is non-smoking, and alcohol is not permitted. See their website for event times. This event is held at the fair grounds, which is also the home of the California Mining and Mineral Museum. This show is a great place for either the rock hound or jewelry enthusiast. Here you will see rows and rows of vendors selling a variety of gem and stone-related items such as jewelry, spheres and egg rocks to name a few. This extremely popular event combines the beauty and grace of The Ahwahnee with superb culinary delights not usually on the menu. Each session features a different guest chef. The event starts with a reception where you can meet the chef. Then you are treated to a cooking demonstration and tour of the kitchen. The session will end with an exquisite Chef's Banquet consisting of a remarkable five-course meal complete with fine wines. This event is held each year on selected dates in January and February. Folk music twice a year just outside the park |

Each year during Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, folk music reigns at Camp Mather. From its location near the once beautiful Hetch Hetchy Valley, you will be able to camp and hike as well as listen to some of the world's best folk artists. Past performers have included The Waifs, Yonder Mountain String Band and HillBilly Idol. Ticket prices are from USD130-140 (adults) and include three or four-day camp sites, as well as admission.
